About Evan Roitenberg KC
For most people, being charged with a criminal offence is an imposing, frightening experience. The system is unfamiliar and the prosecution and the police seem to have all the resources at their disposal. Faced with such a situation, one needs an experienced, talented advocate to defend and protect their interests.
Born and raised in Manitoba, Evan Roitenberg has been practising law since 1992. He has spent the entirety of his career committed to providing his clients with the best defence possible. It has been remarked, he was born to be a courtroom lawyer.
Mr. Roitenberg has defended many high profile and precedent setting cases and has defended individuals charged in all four western provinces, Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada. In all cases, the focus is on the client and the best interests of the client. Mr. Roitenberg routinely defends clients charged with the most complex cases, be they white-collar frauds or conspiracies to murder.
Mr. Roitenberg is widely regarded as one of the leading members of the criminal bar and is routinely sought after to share his skills at cross-examination, either in workshops for others; preparations of video tutorials; or requests by other lawyers to assist in their case preparation. He is a past president of the Criminal Defense Lawyers Association of Manitoba and is currently the Manitoba member of the Canadian Council of Criminal Defence Lawyers.
